Happy Halloween!

Until this week, I never realized that Halloween festivities go on for days! We had an exciting week with several playgroups and Halloween events - - - and it is only Halloween today. Check out the pics of Dayton and his friends including Beckett, Harper and his girlfriend, Brianna, of course.

Dayton has also been 'using' the computer to see his Daddy in Saudi Arabia and other family members. Thanks to Denise and Jeremy for lending us their webcam.

Dayton loves his new walker. I think Hannukah came early for this kid. The weather has cooled off so we have broken out a heavier jacket for Dayton (with ears, of course) and he loves hanging in his walker outside. I think the animals are enjoying his company out there as well.

We have plenty of Halloween activities planned for this evening. I'll get another post of pics out to you as soon as I can.

Happy Halloween!

Dayton Laughing

It's happening more and more...Dayton laughing. Enjoy.

Halloween Pics

It is a good thing that we decided to take a Halloween/Pumpkin shoot today as I don't think Dayton's costume will fit him in one week's time. Ashley took nicer pics then the ones below but these should hold you over until I get the files from her. I don't think Dayton enjoyed the adventure too much as you can see from the scowls on his face. He passed out in his car seat afterwards before he was even buckled in.

A Wedding Weekend

My dear friend, Keely, wed a wonderful man this morning...Lars. I'm so happy for them. They are off to Germany to make their vows with Lars' family. The festive occasion allowed me to have a 'girls' weekend with the women I love. In 2004, a group of single ladies became the 'Fox Force' and in 2009 this group welcomed 2 husbands and 3 babies.

  • Mike and I had our son Dayton
  • 6 weeks earlier, Denise and her husband Germany welcomed their identical twin girls, Brianna and Sophia
  • Nikki and Matt married in May
  • and this weekend, Keely wed Lars

What a year...

Dayton got together with his girlfriends again. I think it is amazing that Dayton's first girlfriends are identical twin girls - - - sorry to say, Dayton, but it's only down-hill from here. You just can't beat this!

I broke out the exersaucer for the first time this weekend. Our neighbor, Beth, had given it to us and it is a big hit. Check out the video. Dayton loves it.

It was such a special weekend.

Trip to Fort Lauderdale

Dayton and I flew to Fort Lauderdale for a 48 hour visit. Namie flew in from NJ to be our partner in crime. Thanks, Namie! Dayton's objective for the visit was to meet his Great Grandpa Hershey (GGH)! Mission accomplished! GGH and Little D got on great! GGH immediately said a prayer over Dayton which was super sweet and touching.

Dayton was also excited to meet his Aunt Dolores, Cousin Geoff and Uncle Vince. We all had so much fun. Thank you so much for travelling to come visit us at the hotel!

While it was a quick visit, Dayton had a lot of 'firsts'. First time staying in a hotel, going to the beach, lounging/napping by a pool, meeting several family members and more. Dayton continues to "talk" more and more and is constantly sharing his thoughts with everyone around him. He has started to "walk" up your chest when you hold him up standing on your lap. Also, when we are out at a restaurant for a meal and I sit him on my knee facing the table, Dayton will hold the edge of the table with both hands. Finally, as you will see from the pics below, he also is holding onto toys such as his Albert Einstein doll. He is also an accomplished roller and once he makes it onto his belly he lifts his head up to check out the nearest toys. So proud.... The poor boy was so busy while we were in Fort Lauderdale that he missed an endless number of naps. You can see him passed out in his car seat of the rental car. He fell asleep 10 minutes into the plane ride home and remained sleeping the entire trip, lunch at a restaurant and finally awoke almost 4 hours later when we arrived home. Such a trooper!

Three Months Old!

Wow...could it really be? Dayton is 3 months old as of October 3rd. Mike and I celebrated by ditching the kid and going to a party! Our friends Suzie and Brent tied the knot! Of course, we did not let the day pass without taking Dayton's 3 Month milestone pictures with Mr. Lamb. Dayton does not sit like a lump like in his previous monthly milestone shots. Instead, he moved all around and was intent on putting BOTH hands in his mouth at the same time.

Things Dayton loves to do at 3 months old:
- Go for walks in his baby bjorn carrier - - - facing out
- Sticking one or both hands in his mouth
- Playing on his play mat
- Talking (often sounds like a dolphin)
- Standing on your lap as you hold him up
- Stomping his feet
- Rolling over from his back to belly in either direction
- Just started to reach and grab onto toys - - - but not consistently
- Bouncing - - - any way, on your lap, in the bouncy seat, as you walk him around. He'll take it happily any way you deliver it
- Smile - - - and sometimes even a little short single note laugh

Aunt Edith and Uncle Jim Come To Visit

Dayton and I returned from NJ/NY just in time to welcome Aunt Edith and Uncle Jim to Houston. They had come in from Jacksonville, FL to meet their nephew for the first time. Oh, and there may have been an Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans football game involved too....nonetheless, Dayton couldn't wait to grab onto his Aunt and Uncle and the feeling was mutual.
